DO I NEED A LIST OR A DIRECTORY OR MiED PRO?
Our print and eBook directories as well as our Pro online service are designed to be single-user information resources, something you keep close at hand to help you work more efficiently and effectively. They each work great for one-to-one communication needs as well as for general information. Pro has significant advantages in this regard, some of which are described here.
Our list and data services use a subset of our data to provide contact information in a format which can facilitate mail merging or import into contact management apps for contacting larger groups of people.
HOW DO I DEFINE MY LIST REQUIREMENTS?
First decide which types of facilities you are interested in: Public school district offices, public school buildings, ISD offices, charter schools, nonpublic schools and/or colleges and universities.
Once that has been decided the group can be further narrowed down geographically by county and in the case of schools, by grade range, etc.
Then choose who you wish to reach at those facilities - top administrators (superintendents, principals, college presidents) or some other position at that building.
Finally do you want to send them a postal mailing, or an email or would you like to create a contact database with postal address, email, phone and fax, or some other combination.
Once you have answered those questions we can then determine the amount of data needed and the cost for your use of it. Lists and data sets are priced by the quantity of data provided so it is good to define your needs.
WHAT DATA IS AVAILABLE?
Postal mailing lists for college/university presidents, ISD and district superintendents, public/charter/nonpublic principals are itemized on page two of our order form. Other contact data is available for these people as well.
Lower on the same page you’ll see our postal mailing lists for “Other Administrators”. Other contact data sets for these people are also available. Postal mailing lists can be provided for any title at any facility using general addressee lines such as “Art Teacher” or “Guidance Counselor”.
WHAT WILL I GET? WHEN? HOW?
Lists and data sets are typically provided in Microsoft Excel format. Comma separated value (CSV) text files are sometimes preferred and are available as well. They are emailed to the licensee once payment has been made. Orders are usually filled within a few days or when needed.
These lists are constantly updated and the actual record counts can vary from the counts on the order form.
WHAT ABOUT PRICING?
Prices for our postal mailing lists are on our order form (linked at the top right of this page). Beyond that, pricing is quoted per request.
WHAT IS YOUR LICENSING AGREEMENT (TERMS OF USE)?
Our goal is to maximize the value of this information for you while minimizing the potential for unauthorized use.
In all cases the data remains the property of Michigan Education Directory Inc and its use by our customers is licensed. The information is provided solely for the use of a particular licensee (an individual or entity) and may not be transferred, republished or shared.
While we recommend updating your data at least annually, there are no restrictions on how long you may use our licensed data.
There are no formal restrictions on the number of uses but any use that might be perceived as spamming is unacceptable. Email lists must be used in compliance with FTC regulations.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO ORDER A LIST?
It used to be that we updated furiously during the summer to make the best print directory we could. We still do that but these days, with our various digital services, our data has to always be good. We have put in place a continuous update protocol to insure that. So, the best time to order a list is when you need it. If you want to update a list or data set annually we recommend ordering in the fall (October/November) when the summer personnel shuffling has settled down.
IF I REORDER THE SAME DATA TO UPDATE MY LIST DO I GET A DISCOUNT?
Critical applications may warrant semiannual or even quarterly updates. Reduced prices are available for lists and data reordered (updated) within the same academic year as the original order (before July 1).
WHY NOT OFFER YOUR LISTS IN YOUR ONLINE STORE?
The nearly limitless possibilities from our customized offerings are hard to enumerate in an online store. More importantly, we are almost always better able to meet our customers’ needs after talking with them (and we enjoy talking with our customers).
